this is basically what i can piece together as far as jas contract in relation to irv and murder inc. when rule was still on cmc, irv already had top dawg. Then Irv took his top dawg team to defjam. Before Irv even started murder inc he woulda brought Ja over to Defjam and then signed him to the only imprint he had at the time. Ja was really only a Def Jam artist, but he was the figure head of murder inc and helped it become an established label. its not hard to work out if u think about it

yea. if you see videos of ja from his early days, when he appears it always says ja rule then under it it's def jam artist only. never saw murder inc artist.

Business wise it doesn't make any sense to do anything like that at ALL.

Thats like Kobe being the face of the Knicks, even though he plays for the Lakers

On the business aspect of things it doesn't make any sense, he had to get paid to do that at least.

I hope Irv wasn't snaking Rule on some Hov and Dame shit.

its not that hard to comprehend ....its just the way it happened..."first he signed D then he signed me then he introduced jay and the rest is hiistory"..irv was awarded his own label after his successes as an A&R....after all murder inc was intended to be a super group..dmx and jay went in diff directions cause they both had crews...makin ja the face of murder inc. made perfect sence...
