Australia's Brad Hogg has been charged with making an offensive remark to two Indian players.

Hogg has been summoned to an ICC hearing to answer allegations that he directed offensive comments towards captain Anil Kumble and all-rounder Mahendra Singh Dhoni during the second Test in Sydney.

"Under the terms of the code of conduct, ICC match referee Mike Procter will hold a hearing as soon as reasonably practicable. The preliminary date for the hearing is set for 14 January in Perth," the ICC said in a statement.

If found guilty, Hogg faces a ban of between two and four Test matches or between four and eight one-day internationals.

The charge follows the row over Harbhajan Singh, the Indian spinner, who was banned for three Tests after being found guilty of calling Australia's Andrew Symonds a 'monkey'.

Harbhajan has denied the offence and has an appeal pending, meaning he will be available to play in the third Test in Perth next week.

Wow is there a delayed reaction with the ICC? If this was an indian player they would of been banned long time ago.
