Renowned producer Dr. Dre filed a lawsuit against Death Row Records in U.S. bankruptcy court on Wednesday (August 15) over the rights to his groundbreaking 1992 album The Chronic. According to the Associated Press, Dre is asking the court to rescind two prior agreements, made in 1992 and 1996, that first granted Death Row permission to distribute The Chronic, and later relinquished the albumís copyrights to the label. Under the 1996 agreement, he agreed to sign over the copyrights on the condition that he would continue to receive royalties...

In 2000 the Aftermath boss notified Death Row that, due to their failure to pay these royalties, he was rescinding the two prior agreements and demanding the rights to the album be returned to him. Dre now claims that, because of that notice, he is once again the rightful owner of the copyrights. The suit also asserts that the Chapter 11 trustee currently overseeing the label is in the process of trying to sell the copyrights without proper permission. The lawsuit seeks a permanent injunction against Death Row and the trustee that would prevent any such sale. Dre is also asking to be paid restitution for any revenue earned by Death Row during its use of the copyrights.

hell No Dre couldn't save Death Row

Nore did he discover Eminem & 50. Nor do anything for their album.

In both cases someone else put the songs together on their debut Aftermath releases.

For Eminem is Jeff Bass & for 50 it was Neff-U producer of Petey Pablo's album. Dre beats only usually mean base lines & drum lines with other producers shit in it like Scott Storch, Battle Cat, Fred Wreck, Sam Sneed & more. But Dre didn't give Em nor 50 any of them beats & stand in the studio & help them with the song.

It's why all 50's "Dre" songs sucked. 50 even said he'd work face to face with Dre on Massacre & that was a fucking lie.

what Death Row needs is someone to fund the label so they don't have to count on sales from Pac CD's

I mean Nu-Mixx paid for Crooked I's album & everything else paid for Against The Grain & Petey did Same Eyez On Me dead broke

plus the distribution with Koch is wack

what Death Row needs is a real boss who drops Real albums that arn't worser then the bootlegges & Death Row needs someone who doesn't answer to Jimmy Lovine nor have to give beats to worser rappers cause Jimmy doesn't aprove

what The INC needs is J. Prince to run Death Row. He'd release albums in a flash with Priority so that the albums never go outta print despite sales

& he need someone like JT The Bigga Figga to market it out in the West & let them know Death Row is back

Dre is a dumbass when it comes to business. He only does the last 1 to 3 tracks on an album. Doesn't executive produce. barily mixes & the album wouldn't even be released unless most of it was done & worked on by someone else

Meaning no Marshal Mathers LP nor any Eminem album without Eminem's presistance, Jeff Base, DJ Head, Kon Artist or any of the other producers.

No 50 Cent, NO Game & no Busta

all we would have is Truth Hurts which flopped over illegal sampling something real stupid Dre gets introuble for allot.

So Dre is a un-organized dumbass. Plus people on Death Row hustle. & anytime anyone on Aftermath like Last Emperor hustled. Dre put them on punishment & took them off their only release The Chronic 2001

besides everyone already owns The Chronic so Dre won't really make much with it now.

unless he threw on Bonus tracks which he won't
