now that its been a while and you've had a chance to really listen to both albums and see which ones stand the test of time better, which do you prefer? i have to go with nas, upon first listen i thought the album was near perfect and it still hasnt worn off. kingdom come takes longer to get into and then kinda fizzles out after a while for me. basically hip hop is dead has more replay value.

the problem with both these albums is this. THEY WEREN"T FOCUSED.

HHID comes in with Money Over Bullshit. sick song. then it goes into you can't kill me which is a little lighter of a song. then carry on traditon which isn't all that good. then he comes in with Hip Hop Is Dead. one of the best songs on it. then that stupid sounding hick song "who killed it" then black republican. it just doesn't seemed focus at all. i mean give me two songs on an album that shows why hip hop is dead. then make a solid album that isn't all over the place.

Hip Hop Is Dead > Kingdom Come
Illmatic > Reasonable Doubt
Nas > Jay-Z
SIMPLE
btw Desire is the best hip hop album of the year so far

Hip hop is dead was solid I still listen to it sometimes.
Kingdom Come was rubbish 1st run through & I never gave it a 2nd chance.
does the album grow on you or should I leave the cd on the rack?

i just think the album did not live up to the hype, nor its title. i mean thats a bold statement. so if your going to say that. make a classic album. and don't have a song at the end saying it'll never die. when on your cover it says Hip Hop Is Dead
