Did Nas save HipHop? Whats ya thoughts on the album.

I think this is definitly the best album in 2006. It doesnt sound as oldschool as "Street Disciple" did but it still not commercial. The beats are on point, rap skillz dont need to be commented (always hot) and the lyrics are good too.

Highlights: not going back, carry on tradition (didnt thought Nas would sound good on a Scott Storch beat).....and many more tracks.

Not as good as the rest: "Hutlers" with Game & produced by Dr.Dre. "Playa on Playa" with Snoop. "Still dreaming" with Kanye, remember me "wouldnt get far" by Game. But even these tracks doont need to be skipped.

I can not allready say if this is a classic. I would give it at least 4,5 stars. But Nas is back and I hope he'll sell more than Jay but even if he doesn't he brings rap forward so whatever!

metaphorically 50 put music in a coma when he started, then pulled the plug with "just a lil bit"
god i hate that song!

was listening to this last night, stayed up till like 1am just for the first links to emerge haha. i must say the album is superior, there are some very creative joints on here 'who killed it', crazy bangers 'QB true G aka hustlers', historic tracks 'carry on tradition, where are they now, black republican' and just pure amazing joints like 'let there be light, blunt ashes'.

i dont know if anyone else noticed, but on where are they now nas mentions mic geronimo and on another track, cant remember which one, he mentions supreme.

i still dont know which is better, this album, food or liquor or atlantis.

Ya man that Blunt ashes is a crazy track. On a quick listen this is a definate challenger for album of the year; Hip hop is dead, Not going back, Black Republican - serious tunes.
My top 3 of 2006 lookin like:
1. Hip hop is dead
2. Docttors Advocate
3. Blue Carpet treatment

this album was everything i was expecting it to be, definately the album of the year. My favourite joints are 'Black Republican' (i dont care what anyone says, Jiggas verse is tight), Let There Be Light, Blunt Ashes & Hustlers.
