Props to Gink(Loki) for the article now you know when its out go cop it.

Smack White Entertainment, the company behind the highly successful "Smack DVD Magazine," have teamed up with Koch -- who they inked a deal with last year to distribute their releases -- to release S.M.A.C.K. The Album: Volume 1.

Smack, which stands for Streets, Music, Arts, Culture & Knowledge, is among one of the top ranked DVD magazines on the market, moving more than 750,000 copies since its birth with no major label support.

S.M.A.C.K. The Album will be a 2-disc CD/DVD combo. The music portion will feature tracks from DMX, B.G., PNC, Juvenile, Mddl Fngz and Bun B, a reunion track with Redman, Eric Sermon & Keith Murray, Maino and Bleu DaVinci, among others.

The DVD portion will include exclusive videos, performances and controversial interviews from Paul Wall, Mike Jones, E-40, Murder Inc. and Funkmaster Flex with an exclusive video for every artist featured on the audio CD.

After three years and 10 volumes, Smack has single handedly taken the hip-hop DVD magazine format to what it is today, led by CEO and Director Troy "Smack" Mitchell, who has taken his brand beyond that of a street DVD.

"We are enthusiastic about the opportunity we have to bring our title to a national market," Mitchell said last year when he inked the deal with Koch. "It's more than just a DVD, it's a movement. Plain and simple, we are the streets."

According to Mitchell, a Smack print magazine and a documentary video series is also currently in the works.

S.M.A.C.K. The Album: Volume 1 is slated for release May 23.
