Murder Inc Reviews

After three albums and two group albums with the Murderes Ja Rule drops his fourth and some say his last album.

1. Intro
2. Thug lovin feat Bobby Brown

The first single of the album features the old RnB artist Bobby Brown. Nice song, the hook is well done by Bobby. All in all a good first single.

3. Mesmerize feat Ashanti

Ashanti and Ja Rule got a good chemistry and it shows in this song. This is the second single. It´s got a good catchy hook and a manistream beat. Could be a big hit, we'll see..

4. Pop niggas

I would never have guessed that this was a Neptune beat. It doesent sound like one of their beats. It´s still a very tight beat and Ja Rule goes of on this track. Sounding like he did when he first came out. Tight track.

5. The pledge remix feat Nas, Ashanti and 2 Pac

I dont really like Nas but he comes hard on this song.. He is followed by Ja Rule who seems to be dissing Snoop or Dmx im not sure. Ashanti is good on the hook. Overall a good song. The only thing that i didnt like was that they took the sample from 2Pac.

6. Murder reigns

Rule starts this track of by talking. Then the nice sample from the 80s kicks in and a female is singing the hook. The result is a very catchy hook and nice way too use the old sample.

7. Last Temptation feat Charlie Baltimore

In my opinion this is the best song. Tight raps and a catchy hook. I was very impressed by Charlie Baltimores appearance. I hope they realese this as a single.

8. Murder me feat Caddilac Tah and Alexi

Good laid back song with a nice hook. But i dont like Caddilac that much, he could have been left off. The hook aint that good, it´s geting boring after a while. Average track.

9. The warning

Ja Rule drops a deep track, and is tellin the hater that he wont give up. The beat is tight and he impressed me with the lyrics in this song.

10. Connected feat Chink Santana, Eastwood and Crooked I

One of the many collabos between Murda Inc and Tha Row. Eastwood and Crooked i from Tha Row really impressed me on this track. Chick Santana did his thing on the hook. Rule didnt impress with his average verse.

11. Emerica feat Young life and Chink Santana

This song sucks. Bad beat and wack raps. I just hate it

12. Rock star

I was expecting a hard song with some rock influence but the track is kinda laid back. It´s still a tight song with a good hook

13. Destiny (Outro)

They should have made this one longer. The beat is very tight and Ja is dropping some heat. This is the song that they use at the end of the "Mesmerize" video.

Overall
Well I'm a big Ja Rule fan and i enjoy this album. I would put it up there with "Pain is love" beacuse it got a more mainstream appeal than his other albums. It´s a good album to bump in the car or at home when you're chillin with a girl.

I give it 3/5
